COG's first GP night 31/10/12

Orthopaedic Surgeons welcome General Practitioners

This week marked the beginning of an exciting time for the Coastal Orthopedics Group as they opened their rooms for the first time to Perth's General Practitioners, upskilling them in advance treatments of knee arthritis.

General Practitioners gathered at Bethesda Hospital for a College-accredited training event presented by some of COG's leading Orthopaedic Surgeons. The event showcased the Hospital and Coastal Orthopaedic’s facilities and also included presentations from surgeons and physiotherapists, providing multi-disclipinary training within the speciality.

Dr Mark Hurworth, Director of Coastal Orthopaedics acknowledges the importance of quality education for General Practitioners whilst giving them access to leading specialists and expert advice.

"GPs are the first face patients see when something is medically wrong so it's vital that GPs are informed about the best possible care and appropriate channels of referral".

The Coastal Orthopaedics Group is pleased to be a part of the new program and looks forward to 2013 where they will offer the GP medical community an array of college approved events teaching on contemporary topics.
